ATTITUDE

Something a friend emailed to me reminded me of this quote. It is one I have liked for a long time, but sometimes have to be reminded of it.

I took this photo at the Open Air Art & Craft show at Okoboji last summer. I have always wished for the opportunity to form clay on a potters wheel. There is just something so wonderful about having your hand covered with God's wonderful clay earth, and creating something beautiful or useful. The gentlemen in the picture actually turned out to be from Norfolk, Ne, not far from where I live. He and his wife travel to different Art & Craft Festivals.

So Amber started the Clarisonic want/need off by getting the first one. After Chelsee & Kristin saw how great it was for the skin, they both want/needed one. After research by all of us..lol.. we discovered that it might be a possible answer to some skin care issues that they were having. If this works, it would be better than using medication, and be better for the whole body. So, we found a promotion where there was a great buy two with a price reduction, plus some free stuff. So birthday gifts for both Kristin & Chelsee! Kristin chose lavender and Chelsee chose the turquoise. Also, this was really cool, we ordered them right from the Clarisonic web site. They offer free engraving, so they each have their first name engraved right on the MIA! How cool is that. The Mia is actually a smaller version of the larger Clarisonic, but will be great for travel and regular use. Feels so good to find a product that will be helpful!

Thanksgiving Feast

A Time for Thankfulness!

Yes, I am thankful, that my Kristin is making a Thanksgiving Turkey for her first time. I remember the first time I made a turkey...I was just a little nervous about it. She seems so confident about it,,with a few questions. I'm so proud of her for taking on the Turkey Challenge! Lol...actually, I never have thought turkey was that difficult to make. Basically, the hardest part for me is to remember to get the turkey out of the freezer and thawing in the refrigerator for the right number of days. Once you figure out how long it needs to cook by looking at the chart for weight and oven temperature that is usually right on the turkey wrapper, the hard part is over. Just let it sit in the over and cook! Oh and the wonderful aroma that fills the house. I can just imagine the turkey sitting in her oven..with 2 hungry, drooling faces peering into the oven waiting for a taste test. No I don't mean Kyle and Kristin, but Dante and Cooper their 2 dogs! lol. Good luck Kristin, I know it will be wonderful.

Bloomin' Snow

Well, we woke up this morning, Oct 10, with my flower bed looking like it was blooming snow! It's pretty early for us to have snow already, and not much of our harvest is completed, so snow will complicate things. We are hoping for no more snow, and a quick melt.

We didn't get that much snow, but enough to let us know it is there. The grassy areas didn't melt as much as the dirt and gravel (as you can see the difference between the two pictures). I guess the ground is warm enough to melt it yet.

Fall Garden Harvest

Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers!. . How well I remember that tongue twister. Well, I didn't pick a peck of pickled peppers. This is all the peppers my plants produced, and three different sizes. What a hoot!

Needless to say, these are very late season peppers. My zucchini plants really bushed out and covered the pepper plants most of the summer. After the zucchini died off, the pepper plants basically came alive. There were only 2 plants, hopefully I will get a couple more peppers, but I doubt it.

The tomatoes are glorious looking though aren't they!

My New Boots

I have been looking for some "fun" boots to wear outside when the grass is wet etc. Kristin & I were shopping together recently and she found these for me. I love them! Aren't they just fun!

I'm sure I will have to fight for them with Lonnie, can't you picture him wearing these...hahahaha!
