Puppy Energy

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

That is what my brain is thinking. Our Johnny Cash "Cash" has soooooooooooooooooo much energy. How will I ever keep up with him when Chelsee goes back to college. He is so sweet sometimes. But we can tell when he is getting tired for the night, because he gets naughty. So then it's to the bathroom outside..and kennel up. So far he has been really good about kenneling up for the night..not much whining..in fact hardly ever. Let's hope I didn't just jinx that by saying that. Some of Cash's favorite play things are:

Chewing on his little squeaky mouse

Chewing on "chewies"

Chewing on cardboard boxes

Chewing on small tree branches

Chewing on water bottles

Chewing on toys

Chewing on tennis balls

Are you noticing a theme here...Chew, Chew, chew...which we expected. I know puppies tend to chew...the next thing he likes is digging holes in my lawn. We will have fun filling in all the dips. Some are pretty deep, and Cash likes to bury his stash of "chewies" in them.

He also still likes to play in his blue wading pool, which helps keep him cooled off.

Chelsee has done a great job training him so far. He learned to let us know when he needed to go outdoors for "his business". He has learned to sit, lay down, roll over, and shake hands. We had trouble getting him to come when called. So Chelsee and I started playing hide and seek with him. I think that has improved his response greatly. Chelsee also taught him to go back up to the house when he is where he doesn't belong by saying loudly..and pointing...GO HOME. Works most of the time.

Cash had his Dr. Vet check up on Tuesday, he now weighs 20 lbs and received his Parvo/Distemper and Rabies shots. So I guess we are set for awhile. We also got him the Heartworm tablets. Definitely do not want him to get heartworm, awful looking what it does to the doggie heart.

So, any ideas on puppy training, let us know.

My DOG

Oh Faithful Friend

You fill my Heart

Memories of you never end

So we will never part.

Every one has that pet that is so special to them. This is a picture of me and my German Shepperd dog in about 1973 -74. I can still remember the night I got him, a gift from someone. He was the cutest , cuddliest, fuzziest puppy I had ever seen. So I named him Fuzz. I remember playing with him, and always saying a silly rhyme to him...and he loved it!

Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear

Fuzzy Wuzzy had no hair

Fuzzy Wuzzy wasn't fuzzy wuzzy,

Was HE?

Like I said silly rhymey poem, but both of us loved it.

One of his most favorite places to run and play were in the alfalfa field. I would play hide and seek with him there...and he would ALWAYS find me. He would pounce jump through the field over the tall alfalfa. It was hilarious to watch.

He was also my protector, no one messed with me with Fuzz around.

Good boy FUZZ.

Memories of you still warm my heart, again

Good Dog Fuzz!

Puppy Charm

I've always thought that there is nothing sweeter in the animal world than a new puppy, at least sweet when it's behaving! We have added a cute little Border Collie to our family. He was born May 24, 2011. We still have not decided on a name for him. Nothing is really feeling right yet. Which is surprising. We've tried a couple names, but just didn't seem right. Chelsee & Lonnie said NO to the name Scoundrel...I thought it was cute, and you know puppies, sooner or later he will be in trouble. He discovered the little squeaky mouse toy for our cat and claimed it for his own. He absolutely loves playing with the squeaky mouse. Tossing, and flipping it and pouncing on it. So much fun to watch him.

We picked a pretty bad time weather wise for getting this little guy. The heat index is expected to be over 100 with the temps in the upper 90's, and very high humidity. So....we kept him in the house with us last night. Today, in and outside to play etc. After church we made a stop at the local Pamida for Puppy Chow, chew toys, and of course a little hard plastic wading pool that was on sale there for some splashy cooling playtime. All set up to have some wonderful fun with this little guy. So, if you have any name suggestions, I'd love to hear them. Hopefully we will come up with one soon. He needs to have his own name.

Snow Dog

Amber's dog Mario enjoyed getting to
run and play in the snow.
He looked so funny frosted up!
All the dogs that visited during the Christmas holiday
seemed to like running at the farm!

Grand Dogs

Grand Dogs
Kristin & Kyle not only have a new house,
They also have some new pets,
They have been waiting for a long time to get their dogs.
Kristin chose Dante, a very cute and sweet Cocker Spaniel
and
Kyle chose Cooper, a beautiful, playful, very large Black Lab, he weighs 81 pounds!
Their two cats, Tito and Cliff are still adjusting to the shock!
Dante is very obviously Kristin's dog, follows her everywhere,
and Cooper is exactly what Kyle wanted, fun to play with!
I'm sure they will have many fun, eventful stories with these two around.
Congratulations K & K.
I'm very proud to say that they chose their dogs from Humane Societies that rescue animals.

Pretty Boy

This is my cat named "Pretty Boy". He is a beautiful white long haired cat. Lives outside on my farm. He absolutely loves to walk along side me, and likes to flop over to be petted. He has beautiful blue eyes, and likes to climb the tree outside of my kitchen window. He is so friendly. My girls laugh at his funny name, but it's too late to change it now, he is used to being called a "Pretty Boy"! HA!

Granddogs

The only picture we will probably ever have of Riley with the dogs. Riley was resting and didn't realize the dogs were there. Doesn't Riley look huge next to BJ!

We just had the "Granddogs" for a week. They were so much fun, except that Riley (our cat) did not like having the extra company. He was stalking them every chance he got. Mario and BJ were very good about staying out of Riley's way. Now that the dogs have gone home I am missing the daily walks we were taking.
