Snow Dog

Amber's dog Mario enjoyed getting to
run and play in the snow.
He looked so funny frosted up!
All the dogs that visited during the Christmas holiday
seemed to like running at the farm!

Announcing Baby On Board!

I can finally share some exciting, wonderful news.
Amber, Ryan and Alexa are expecting an addition to their family.
Amber is expecting a baby , due June 2, day before Amber's birthday.
They had a fun way to announce the wonderful news.
We drew names for Christmas on Sunday,
On one of the papers was a picture of a stork carrying a baby bundle,
It said ???????Baby??????
What a fun way to announce their news.
We are so excited for us and for them.

Dancing Feet

I am so lucky
I have been invited to Riverdance.
I have wanted to see Riverdance forever!
I used to watch Riverdance on TV
At first I thought, what is this?
Then I became enthralled.
Their gracefulness,
and synchronization is amazing
Now, thanks to my friend Joyce
I get to fill the seat at the Orpheum
because her husband can not attend.
YES!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Take me out to the ballgame,
Take me out with the crowd
Buy me some peanuts and cracker jacks
I don't care if I never get back,
Let me root, root, root for the home team
If they don't win it's a shame
And it's one, two, three strikes your out
At the Old Ball Game

Congratulations to my Yankees!
Yankees Win the World Series! Yes!

K & K Wedding Bookmark

This is one of my favorite bookmarks that I have made. It was in honor of my daughter's wedding. I used the Reading that they picked for the wedding ceremony, which by the way is the same reading that we used when we were married.
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy,
It does not boast,
It is not proud.
It is not rude,
It is not self-seeking,
It is not easily angered,
It keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil
but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts,
always hopes,
Always perseveres.

Love never fails. . .
And now these three remain:
Faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is love.

Irresistable Bars-Butter Tart Squares

This recipe is so delicious, I really have to limit myself on how many I eat. So YUMMY! Here's the recipe:
Butter Tart Bars:
Base:
2 cups flour
1 cup butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
Combine flour and sugar, then with a pastry blender cut in butter until crumbly. Press into a 10X15 cookie/bar sheet. Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees.

Topping Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, softened------ 2 cups brown sugar
4 eggs --------------------------4 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon baking powder---- 1 teaspoon vanilla
pinch of salt --------------------1 1/2 cups raisins
3/4 cup coarsely chopped pecans
( I used 1/2 cup pecans and 1/4 cup walnuts because
I didn't have enough pecans, and it was still very flavorful)

Mix together butter and sugar, then blend in the eggs. Add flour, baking powder, salt and vanilla. Stir in raisins and pecans. Pour over the base. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until top springs back when lightly touched. Cool, cut into squares. Freezes well.

When Nothing Matters

When nothing matters,
But the things that really matter...

That’s when we come to God

When nothing matters
But the list of all we care about...

That’s when we come to God

We fall on our knees,
And pray with our heart...

That’s when we come to God

Promises are made
We want to shout...

That’s when we come to God

When nothing matters,
But the things that really matter.

Bloomin' Snow

Well, we woke up this morning, Oct 10, with my flower bed looking like it was blooming snow! It's pretty early for us to have snow already, and not much of our harvest is completed, so snow will complicate things. We are hoping for no more snow, and a quick melt.

We didn't get that much snow, but enough to let us know it is there. The grassy areas didn't melt as much as the dirt and gravel (as you can see the difference between the two pictures). I guess the ground is warm enough to melt it yet.
